I Have A Depressed Boyfriend?

Well, I have been with him for months now, and just to let you know, it's a long distance relationship. We are in love. We can feel it. But I think he may be depressed. He is so apologetic, and gets worried about hurting me. We had a little argument the other day, and he then couldn't stop crying and saying sorry. He said he wanted to die so he couldn't hurt me. But then when I reassure him, he stays ok for a while. But he also said he needed me, and wanted to hold me, and wanted me to get rid of his tears. I am so upset. I can't be there, yet. I'm in the UK, he's in the US. How do I show him how beautiful he is?
