Landlord "accidentally" double leased our apartment for the fall?

Hey this is my first time posting, but i wasn't sure where to turn. So i'm a college student and just finished up freshman year. I recently signed a lease for an apartment for next fall and have a binding contract stating that we have the apartment, what the rent will be, terms of the agreement, etc. However, after signing this contract with my roommate on June 7th, i got a call today from our future landlord saying that he had actually already rented our apartment to another tenant on June second and, due to an error on his part, he signed us to the apartment as well. When he informed me of this, he was very apologetic and eager to get us into another unit. However, I'm not happy at all with the situation and feel like we were mislead due to the landlord's idiocy at our own cost. What can we do? should we just accept the fact that he messed up and go with a different unit? i don't think we have any chance of getting our original desired unit since there is already a lease on it that was signed before ours, but we feel like we've been defrauded! help!

Excel question on substituting characters?

The SUBSTITUTE command will look for all instances of a particular character (or group of characters) and switch them with something else. Using your example code, if you put the function =SUBSTITUTE(A1,"0","P") into B1, the result will be "CPAPAJ111APG" (Excel replaces all the 0's with P's). If you're looking to replace the character (or group of characters) in a specific location in your string, then you want to use the REPLACE command, so to do exactly what you asked about, you'd use this function: =REPLACE(A1,9,1,"0")

Why when i copy the text and ,when i paste it something els is coming(HELLO!) i have windows 7 on my pc?

is happening on everything i tried on Excel also . but im facing the same problem ,bsicly when copy the text and pasting it automatically Hello! is coming .

Why dont vehicle engine manufacturers provide a....?

Crankshaft 'locking' device???....so the crank shaft can be locked into a pre-set position for undoing the crankshaft nut!...most vehicles have cambelts and some of the workshop manuals recommend that you have to manufacture a DIY metal contraption that is supposed to be hand held while you bust your @*** trying to undo a hefty nut???....

Good or Bad ~ Opinions Please?

You do have a lot of potential but these are very run of the mill. Try some subtle allusions...discretion is always key. And less cliches. And more metaphorical imags...that's what poetry's all about: making you think. Good luck!

What should I do about this situation?

I've been casually dating a guy for a few months, nothing serious. The problem is that he cancels our dates about 75% of the time, usually at the last minute. He is always very apologetic and has a good reason. The last time he did this, we had made plans over a week ahead of time to spend the day together, and I had turned down two other offers for that day. I didn't find out that the date wasn't happening until I texted him at 10 o'clock the night before to confirm. He agrees this is disrespectful to me, says he only wants to make it up to me, apologizes profusely, says he really likes me and wants to see me, etc. We have a great time when we do get together, and I really like him. BUT, I don't want to be treated like this. I am tired of making plans and having them fall through all time. Should I just stop seeing him?

How to retrieve the last transactions of all items within a spread sheet which are of different dates ?

Supposing I’m using an excel spread sheet for a stock ledger that records the receiving and issuance as well as the balance of a series of stock items within the same spreadsheet. The transaction of each of these stocks items will be transacted at different times and at different dates. Is there anyway that I can retrieve the last transaction (which are likely to be from different dates) of all items within a single spread sheet report ?
